Even if you’re not in Perspectives on Science, or you didn’t get into “Rainforest Lab and Expedition,” don’t worry, there are still plenty of funds available for summer research in many areas. If you don’t want to stay on-campus, there are also research and internship opportunities available through the Bulldogs program, run by Undergraduate Career Services. Below is a listing of some helpful websites and Yale-only fellowships with upcoming deadlines.
Deadline: Febraury 18, 2009
http://studentgrants.yale.edu/grant_detail.asp?gid=159Supports original undergraduate research projects, conducted under the supervision of a Yale University faculty member, which cannot be supported through other programs or faculty research grants. Stipend support of $2960 to $3700 is normally granted for a full time 8-10 week summer research experience.

http://www.yale.edu/evst/summer_internships.htmlAdministered by Environmental Studies, these fellowships supports summer projects relating to environmental issues and internships with environmental organizations and government agencies. All Yale undergraduates are eligible.
Deadline: March 4, 2009
http://www.yale.edu/yser/healthfellowships.htmlSupports original undergraduate research projects in health studies, including study of the social, political, economic and biological determinants of health. Projects in the U.S. and abroad are eligible. Currently enrolled freshmen, sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply.

http://studentgrants.yale.edu/grant_detail.asp?gid=195Supports undergraduates pursuing travel, research or internship opportunities related to engineering. Preference is given to students participating in projects sponsored by the Yale chapter of Engineers without Borders. This fellowship will support projects in both the US and abroad, during either an academic term or the summer.

Stipend of $3200-$4000 is normally granted for a full time 8-10 week summer research experience under the supervision of a Yale University faculty member. Currently enrolled freshmen, sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply.
